What are ombre highlights?

“Ombre” is both a French and Italian term meaning shadow or shaded. It’s a graduation of color from light to dark. This highlighting technique is used to give the appearance of “grown out” highlights and sun kissed ends.

There are virtually limitless options using the ombre technique, from subtle to dramatic. This technique is best used on medium to long length hair.
